Privacy Policy

PrayBefore (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by OMNIWAY (Đorđe Stanišić). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use the PrayBefore app on iOS, Android, and the web.

By using PrayBefore, you agree to this Policy. For our rules of use, see the Terms of Service.

1. Overview

You can use many features of PrayBefore without an account. Local data stays on your device. If you sign in, some data is synced to our cloud so you can use the app across devices.

We do not sell your personal information for advertising.

2. Information We Collect

a) Information you provide

• Account details when you sign in with email/password, Google, or Apple (e.g. email address, display name, provider ID) via Firebase Authentication.
• Content you create, such as saved verses and folders, prayer journal entries, prayer history, check-ins, preferences, and support chat messages.
• Support messages you send via in-app chat or email (support@praybefore.app).

b) Information stored on your device

When signed out (and often also when signed in), data may be stored locally using Hive and Shared Preferences, including verses, prayers, history, and settings. This data remains on your device unless you sync it or export/share it yourself.

c) Cloud data (when signed in)

If you create an account, we store synced content in Cloud Firestore under your user ID (e.g. verses, prayers, related preferences) so it can be restored on other devices.

d) Subscription & purchase data

On iOS and Android, purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, with subscription status managed through RevenueCat. We receive entitlement/subscription status (e.g. whether you have PrayBefore Pro), not your full payment card details. Apple/Google process payments under their own policies.

e) Analytics & diagnostics

We use Firebase Analytics for anonymized or pseudonymous usage events (e.g. screens viewed, subscription funnel events) and Firebase Crashlytics (mobile) for crash reports to improve stability. These may include device/app metadata (OS version, app version, coarse device info), not the content of your private prayers for advertising.

On the marketing website (praybefore.app), we may record whether a visitor tapped the App Store or Google Play button. That is aggregated usage data (which store was chosen), not advertising profiles or the content of prayers.

f) AI prayer generation

When you use guided AI prayers, prompts needed to generate the prayer (e.g. theme, language, prayer type) are sent to our Firebase Cloud Functions, which call Gemini API. We use this to return prayer text. Do not include sensitive personal data in prompts that you would not want processed by our providers.

g) Prayer Lock (iOS)

Prayer Lock uses Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls APIs. App names you select are not shared with us — Apple keeps that selection private. We may only see opaque counts (e.g. number of apps/categories/websites selected), not which apps you locked.

h) Photos & media (optional)

If you use features such as the verse image maker, you may pick images from your library or save images to your gallery. Images stay under your control on the device unless you explicitly share them.

i) Automatically collected technical data

Our backends and providers may process standard technical data such as IP address, request timestamps, and authentication tokens as needed to secure and operate the service.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide, sync, and improve PrayBefore
• Authenticate you and secure your account
• Process and restore subscriptions
• Generate AI-guided prayer content you request
• Provide customer support (including via Crisp)
• Understand usage and fix crashes
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms

We do not use your prayer journal or verse content to sell ads.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on providers that process data only to run their services for us, including:

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We do not sell personal data to third parties for their marketing.

5. Data Retention

• Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app (uninstall may remove local storage).
• Cloud data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account in the app, we delete associated cloud account data we control, subject to short backup/technical retention where required.
• Support chats may be retained as needed to help you and improve support.
• Analytics/crash data is retained according to Firebase’s retention settings and our operational needs.

6. Data Sharing

We share data only:

• With the service providers listed above, as needed to operate PrayBefore
• If required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security
• With your direction (e.g. when you use the system share sheet to export or send content)

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Children’s Privacy

PrayBefore is rated for a general audience (including 4+ where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for commercial exploitation. Parents/guardians should supervise use by minors. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data inappropriately and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

8. Your Choices & Rights

Depending on your location (including EU/EEA/UK and similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

In the app you can typically:

• Use PrayBefore without an account
• Sign out
• Delete your account and associated cloud data (where offered)
• Manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple ID / Google Play settings
• Control notification and system permissions in your device settings

9. International Transfers

We and our providers (e.g. Google Firebase, OpenAI, RevenueCat, Crisp) may process data in the United States or other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures (including encrypted transit to our backends and provider security controls). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; use the app at your own risk and keep your account credentials safe.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The Effective Date above will be updated when we publish a new version.
